Preface     Chapter 1     Chapter 2     Chapter 3     Chapter 4     Characters     Epilogue

Nothing exists... Yet, through the emptiness
a thought is rising,
from nowhere and no time
as a feeling of not being alone.

Endless images are emerging, all at once.
Some of them are so pleasant, uplifting,
bringing laughter and joy,
yet some are so horrific, ugly, terrifying.

The boundless sense of happiness
turns into heartbreaking pain.
The most wonderful scent
turns into unpleasant odour.
A beautiful sound is cut by growling...

A hunger for the taste of purity -
to reach out for the touch of love,
to see the flesh in its fragile innocence...

to feel its obedience, and fear, and agony,
while consuming it in the blinding flash of orgasm,
and feeding from its soul.

The two opposites in the middle of nowhere,
where Everything is One.

These two opposites are you -
as you are the one.

There is nothing else...

...but the fight between two great snakes,
the Black one and the White.
As a drop of red wine will destroy the wedding dress,
the Black snake will overcome the White one.
The White snake will be swallowed.

There is a moment of peace in nothingness.

Then suddenly,
a new sensation!
In a rage that shakes the darkness,
the great Black snake feels -
it's pregnant!

It lays down an egg
and from that egg the White snake reappears!

The moment the Black snake sees the re-emerging White one,
it tries to swallow it once again.
But the White snake transforms itself into Scarab and escapes.

While running from the Black snake, running through the ages,
Scarab feels the rising hunger of the Black snake.

To be eaten for all eternity the same way over again?

From these thoughts and feelings
a chain of transformations begin -
through all imaginable forms of existence
Scarab reaches the human form.

By the time the great Black snake senses
the newly emerged human form,
its endless, enormously grown hunger
has caused it to turn blind - the Black snake has lost its vision!

In that very moment
the great Black snake is swallowed!

There is a moment of peace in nothingness.

Then suddenly,
unexpectedly,
a horrifying new sensation!
The human form of Scarab stops
and contemplates its pregnancy...
